Areas of Focus
in Individual Therapy

Click on the links below to learn more about the areas of focus we work with here at Heart Space Counseling Center, as well as how we can help you work through your particular challenges.

  • Session Length, Frequency and Format
Traditional therapy sessions are 45 - 90 minutes long, occurring on a weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly basis depending on where you are in your therapeutic journey and taking into account your time, schedule, budget, and progress.
  • In Person and Online Therapy Availability
Given the significant impact of the pandemic, Heart Space Counseling Center has made conscious and intentional efforts to ensure you get a comfortable, convenient, and effective therapeutic experience by offering both online and in-person meetings. We understand how personal this decision feels for many, as well as the importance of choice, safety, and convenience. Please let us know your personal preference, and we will connect you with a therapist who works in your medium of preference.
  • Investment Cost, Affordability, & Insurance
Heart Space Counseling Center therapy sessions range from $125 to $225, depending on the length of your sessions and your therapist's rate. We do not accept insurance but you may request an invoice from your therapist to submit to your insurance company for the potential to receive out-of-network reimbursement benefits. You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate of what your services may cost over the duration of your therapy process. We ensure that there are no surprises in the cost of your mental healthcare.
  • Talk Therapy
Therapy is a process in which a person, couple, or family is able to share life struggles, develop goals for creating change, and receive professional perspective and insight in order to live a happier and more satisfying life. Problems that can be addressed in therapy include relationship distress, sexual intimacy issues, trauma, depression, anxiety, bipolar and other mood disorders, parenting, and teen issues. In safe relationships, relational issues are encouraged to be addressed with other family members or partners present in order to strengthen the effectiveness of the therapy. Your therapist will help provide a safe and supportive environment for you to process your thoughts, ideas and feelings about what is going on in your life individually or with your loved ones.
  • Trauma-Focused Therapy & Therapeutic Intensives
Trauma has critical, dramatic, sometimes even daily impacts on mental health, leaving so many people prone to sabotaging their closest relationships, self-esteem, and even the ability to uphold their fundamental life responsibilities. For many people it can feel as if even having to suffer one more day may mean the dissolution of the very resources and relationships that are holding them together. We at Heart Space recognize that this urgency does not often afford clients the luxury of time for things to further devolve. We see that for many help is needed and it is needed now! For this reason, we offer exposure-based trauma therapies in intensive format. What this means is that in a matter of hours in as little as one week, you can experience significant and life-altering healing and relief from emotional volatility or disengagement, post-traumatic stress, anxiety, and depression. Schedule your consultation today if you don't have another lifetime to spend processing a lifetime of trauma and are longing to show up differently, as a healthier, whole self, in your most important relationships! EMDR, IFS and somatic / body-centered therapy are our most utilized methods for addressing issues related to trauma.
